PART I: NEW RESOURCES FOR TEACHING THE HOLOCAUST 9:00-10:30 a.m. Guided Tour of Hartford Remembers the Holocaust Exhibit – Museum of Jewish Civilization ● Training session for supporting field trip curriculum 10:45 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. Meet with K. Heidi Fishman, author Tutti’s Promise, and her survivor mother, Ruth (Tutti) Fishman ● Session on using young adult Holocaust literature in the classroom 12:15-1:00 p.m. Lunch
PART II: PEDAGOGY WORKSHOP 1:00-2:15 p.m. – Participants to rotate through three stations ● Teaching About Resistance ● Confronting Holocaust Denial and Contemporary Anti-Semitism ● Teaching about Forgiving and Forgetting 2:30-3:15 p.m. Panel Session with Holocaust Survivors and Liberator 1.
