The Emperor of Atlantis – An Opera by Viktor Ullmann

The Emperor of Atlantis was written in Terezien, the Nazi ‘model’ concentration camp for artists. Its performance there was censored and composer Viktor Ullmann sent to Auschwitz for execution. His haunting opera examines humanity’s resilience, the survival of love and art against all odds, and final redemption.

The performance on Sunday, March 31st will be followed by a Q and A with a Holocaust survivor from Terezien.
